Es geht voran!

Hallo!

Ich habe es geschafft! Alle Nähte sind aufgetrennt! Also alles wieder auf Anfang.

I did it! All seams are separated! So everything is back on beginning. On Ann Petersen’s side I found a wonderful tutorial on Basting.

I’ve tried the same and it works! Everything is nice and flat and it’s fun to quilt. I first had everything stiched in the ditch.

Here you can see where was the split seam. I am really shocked that I lie beside one centimeter!

This week I was a hard worker (maybe because of the new machine). First, of course, the Stargazer. I’m still not sure how I make the border. Currently leads red just before black. Check back here after and vote!

Then I sewed a block Pinwheel Polka from Peggy Martin craftsy course „Quick Strip Paper Piecing“ and quilted it. Unfortunately, I don’t like it after quilting … And the edges are become very wavy. Perhaps it disappears after washing?

For Christmas I made these two sets, waiting to be quilted. At first I think I quilted straight lines, but after the Pinwheel Polka disaster I’m not so sure … I may make small snowflakes in the white area?

Last night I was gone  for a wholecloth. So I quickly looked for a pattern and fabric:

The fabric is hand-dyed and was supposed to be dark blue – have probably added a bit too much black! The pattern in Quiltmaker of 7 and as Filler my version of spirals. I’m really curious to see how it looks finished!

I’m looking forward to next week!

  1. You have had a great week I'd say! Pretty projects.

  2. Great spiral design on your wholecloth! You might be able to eliminate the wavy edges by pinning all around your block with straight pins and sewing a line very close to the edge? The quilting around the pinwheel looks great.

  3. A busy week! It's such a disappointment when you dislike something you spent time on – may I suggest laying the fabrics out and seeing how you like them. I like the block though and think it would look nice as a pillow. You've done so many projects this week!

  4. I love that star block, and you're the 5th post I've read that mentions Craftsy! The purple quilting is spectacular!!
