Fortschritte!

Hallo!

Easy Street Part 3 is finished! The road was a bit awkward (you can read here), but the result is better! Yesterday during Bonnie’s QuiltCam I cut the last little blocks.

I arranged it this way on my design wall and I really like the pattern! However, I’m beginning to doubt my choice of colors. The blue colors do not harmonize. But I will not change. Look also to the other Mysterianer, today it’s Linky!

I progressed with my other projects. The Dirndl-Quilt has now got some feathers.

I am now unsure how to proceed. Should I quilt more feathers or fill the space with a different design or just leave it open?

The Kindergarten-Quilt also proceeds. The blocks are quilted, the names are quilted and already sewn to the blocks with Quilt-As-You-Go-Methode. Now „only“ connect to each other and already it’s done 🙂 Here is an example of Lara.

If everything is sewn together, I will wash out the pencil and fill in the name with fabric paint. Is somewhat awkward, but I can’t change it now. I have written and quilted all the names and then noticed that my textile pens do not cover the pencil…

And now a view from my living room:

It snows and snows and snows. And my two girls are with gastro-intestinal disease on the couch 🙁 Fortunately, on the road to recovery!

  1. Those look great love the pattern you put up on your wall. Sending healing prayers that your 2 girls get to feeling better real soon.

    1. How about echo stitching around the feathers to fill it in a bit..

  2. Sehr schon. I think your colour scheme looks great.

  3. I love how you have your blocks laid out on your design wall. Very inspired! Your blues may not "harmonize" now, but I think when we get more of them and the quilt starts to be more cohesive, you won't notice it as much. I thought the same thing about my reds, but I feel they will work in the end.

    1. That calms me, thank you!

  4. I like your colors and potential idea for the layout!
Those feathers are beautiful, thank you for sharing.

  5. I think your blues will work just fine when it's all finished.

  6. Pretty! I agree with Sharon, I think once we add the other color it will all start to come together. Also love your snow picture! We have snow here too in the Cascade mountains of Washington state 🙂

    1. The chance that we have snow on Christmas is normally 50:50. This year we have a lot! 🙂

  7. Great blocks and great arrangement! Don't doubt your colors as they are lovely.

  8. interesting arrangement!!!!!

  9. I like your arrangement! I have seen beautiful ceramic tiles that look something like that. Glad to hear your girls are getting better!

  10. I would not change a thing/or colour on your blocks. They look fabulous. Get well wishes to your little girls.

  11. I like how your blues play off of each other! 😀

  12. I like echo quilting or cross hatching with feathers. Don't forget that the blues will probably be separated in the quilt so they will harmonise much better. Don't worry! They are looking great.

    1. Cross hatching is a good idea! Thank you!

  13. Love your design… I wish I was there so I could play with the blocks. Your blues are so pretty they read as light to dark of the same color. Your quilt will be so pretty when it is finished.

I am anxious for Friday to come so we can get on to the next clues.

  15. Your Easy Street blocks make a wonderful quilt all on their own!
Step #4 is posted…I'm off to sew!
